Oscillator
An oscillator is the core sound generator of a synthesizer. It produces a repeating audio signal, typically in the form of waveforms like sine, square, triangle, or sawtooth. Each waveform has its own timbre, rich or limited in harmonics. The oscillator defines the pitch of the sound, which can then be shaped by filters, envelopes, LFOs, and more. Multiple oscillators can be combined to create richer, thicker sounds, and slightly detuned for phasing or detune effects.
