Approaching a Sweep FX
The Sweep is interesting, cool and also can have a really huge range of colors and behavior. Things to keep in mind is this particular opening on the timing set on the Attack parameter of the ADSR Filter Envelope. Another thing to think about is how gritty it can be. It also has a demonstrating name here “sssssWEEEEPP”. We can imagine the sound if we accentuate the spelling of the word.
It can also be completely shaped from noise like the traditional wind but with a fade-in in terms of level, it can be something more “electrical”. This can be something more gritty in the low-end build with SAW and some Sub Frequencies. I will explained how to do the second one and the third one as the first one can be a good exercise for you.
Patch Explained names are ACDC of7 (Electrical Sweep fx) and SWPcross a Sweep more like in the Wild luv from Roach Motel
Few example of Sweep:
The sFX like Wind with fade in can be used to mark change in the construction of a track or an intro like the sweep in the Romanthony “Ministry of Love“
The Sweep fx sound in the Roach Motel “Wild luv”, on the break (at 4.05) isolates the organ, the Sweep is the other noticeable thing, this Sweep is not really in the Low End of frequencies but that’s an example of a Sweep. (You can imagine the sweep can have a lot of colors and behavior)
