Round-robin

Round-robin is a sampling technique used to avoid repeating the exact same sample every time a note is triggered. Multiple variations of the same sound (like a snare hit) are recorded and played in rotation, adding realism and variation—especially for drums and acoustic instruments. This helps avoid the “machine gun effect” and gives a more natural, human feel to the performance.
