Glide
« Back to Glossary Index
Glide is a term often used interchangeably with portamento in synthesizers. It refers to the smooth transition in pitch from one note to another instead of an instant jump. The glide time can be adjusted to control how fast the pitch moves between notes. This effect is especially popular in monophonic synths, trap 808 basses, expressive leads, and retro analog-style sounds.
