Major
Major refers to a scale or chord that has a bright, happy, and stable sound. The major scale follows the pattern: whole – whole – half – whole – whole – whole – half. For example, the C major scale includes the notes: C, D, E, F, G, A, B. A major chord (like C major = C–E–G) is built from the root, a major third, and a perfect fifth. Major keys are widely used in pop, classical, and folk music.
