Wavetable
A wavetable is a collection of waveforms stored in a digital table, which can be scanned or modulated in real time to produce evolving, textured sounds. Unlike traditional subtractive synthesis (which uses a single static waveform), wavetable synthesis lets you morph between different waveforms (via LFO, envelope, etc.), resulting in dynamic and expressive timbres.
It’s widely used in modern synths like Serum, Vital, Massive, and Ableton Wavetable, and is capable of creating anything from sharp digital tones to rich, complex textures.
