Approaching Movment
« Movment », (movement) it’s all about modulations. And it’s often the trick! In this series I heavily rely on LFO1 to modulate LFO2 – or both LFOs can modulate rhythmically but in parallel– to create a modulation or change with a rhythmical behavior.
This special LFO comes with an x (multiplies the current tempo) you’ll find it in the LFO Multiplier (MUL) with different Multiplier values (x) You can achieve some crazy modulations rhythmically. But I also use the dot (.)
Then it will have to do with LFO Trig Mode :
FRE is the default free-running mode. The LFO run continuously, never restarting or stopping.
TRG makes LFO1 restart when a note is played.
HLD makes LFO1 run free in the background, but when a note is played the output LFO1 level is latched and held still until the next note is played.
ONE will make LFO1 start from the beginning when a note is played, run for one cycle and then stop. This makes it similar to an envelope.
HLF will make LFO1 start from the beginning when a note is played, run for half a cycle and then stop.
If Both LFO are in FREE mode you should expect something difficult to play but probably the most interesting behavior because the LFO will do its thing no matter what. For instance in the Patch Explained called DEEPCH-TKN I love the fact that I can find a rhythmical way to play the sound and to have as a result something very organic.
In Movment 12, we get lovely evolving soundscapes but it’s living on its own. I like that a lot because I feel it’s like the sound is alive. I’m usually less bored by the Patch when playing with it for long periods of time.
In ScratchDZ, it’s a mix of the Multiplier (x) and dot (.) who gives me this scratch effect. I would like something in the territory of a pad or soundscape but with an auto scratch behavior.
Of course all these patches are better with delay and reverb for sure it’s intensify what I have in mind.Â
So These 3 Patches Explained are what comes next
